The Definition of Hope (12.27.2009)

I have chronic pain from several facial surgeries and migraine headaches. To look at me, you would never know that there is anything wrong. At 44 years old, I have a job, three beautiful children and a new husband. I was feeling abandoned by God because, surely if He loved me he wouldn't put me through this. A few days later, my husband I went to visit his father and Aunt. In the bathroom on the counter was a copy of your book "When God Winks at You". It was opened to a page with a story about hope. In a little box off to the side were the words I needed to see. It said that hope (and I'm paraphrasing) is the feeling that the feeling you are having right now isn't permanent. Wow! I thought, that was the best definition I had seen. I ended up reading the entire book. That really was a Godwink to me because it gave me hope. I saw you on Fox this morning and the things I read in your book helped me to see that God is still there and that he cares about me. The pain is the same, but maybe tomorrow will be better! Thank you, |
