My Dad passed away in a very tragic accident that I will always feel partially responsible for. A lack of clear thinking, or negligence, during a family outing caused my Dad to have a massive heart attack and die instantly. It was so traumatic, and I still cry and talk to my Dad all the time.
I'd been going through a difficult time after losing my job so when a friend invited me to Ft. Myers, FL. to unwind and de-stress for a few days and offered to buy my plane ticket, I took him up on it.
On our last day as we were packing up to leave, the owner of the home came outside with his handyman to cover the pool. He introduced his handyman as Randy and said he was also originally from Wisconsin like me. We exchanged hello's and although most people would have left it at that, I struck up a conversation with Randy. I asked him if he lived in Wisconsin and Florida. He said he hadn't lived in Wisconsin since 1980. I kept asking where he lived in Wisconsin. He was vague and said it was just a small town but that he goes back to visit often. I kept persuing this man with questions even though I've never laid eyes on him in my life. I continued to ask what town, what neighborhood, what street, until what I consider a miracle...I narrowed it down and found out he had been friends with my Dad! When he said that he actually knew my Dad, I jumped off my chair and ran up to this strange man and just started hugging him! I couldn't believe any of this. What are the odds of that? I had never been to Ft. Myers, yet was just introduced to a complete stranger that had known my wonderful father.
I'd also been praying and talking to my Dad and God about my lack of employment. I need a certain amount of money every month to pay my mortgage and bills and an ordinary job won't cover the expenses. I'd been frantic and was having daily panic attacks.
Then, out of the blue, an old friend who I hadn't seen or talked to for 8 months showed up at my door and offered me a job. He didn't even know I was out of work! I went to the interview and learned that with hard work I could earn in the first month the exact amount of money I needed for my mortgage and other bills!
