My husband and I had just helped a member of our chuch move from a small town in Arizona to Las Vegas,Nevada. The road from Las Vegas, Nevada to our home in Kingman, Arizona passes directly around Lake Mead and The Hoover Dam. This road is the ONLY thoroughfare south from Las Vegas to Kingman, Arizona. My husband and I were 'in the parade' of trucks and cars going south just at dusk that evening. The two lane highway had certain areas where there was one additional 'passing lane' to allow faster vehicles to pass the slower trucks. We had just entered one of these areas where there were two lanes. We wanted to speed-up so we moved into the 'fast lane'.

My husband and I were talking when he said to me "did you hear that?" I said "hear what"? He told me he heard a voice say "pull over now". He disregarded the voice but then the voice came to him stronger and with more authority. He looked around on the road and saw no reason to pull over; there was no threatening traffic anywhere. But, being a man of faith and having been in the military, he heeded the order to "pull over now" more seriously and pulled into the slower lane to the right.

Just at that moment he sensed an outline of something he had passed and looked in the outside mirror. He then saw a full-grown burro standing in the fast lane just where we would have been had he not listened to the voice commanding him to "pull over now". At a speed of 70 miles per hour, hitting an object of that size would have been fatal; but he DID pull over!

We believe God winked at that moment.
