On December 10, 2007 while I was Christmas shopping, I needed to stop and evaluate my list. I decided to stop for a glass of wine. While I was there, Dan walked in. Dan and I went to high school together, 20 years earlier. He was a year ahead of me in school and we never ran in the same circles. However, several times over the years, our paths crossed - at church, at the grocery store, at his wife's calling hours.

We talked for about three hours - talking about our families and sharing our stories of loss and grief. As we talked, I kept hearing Dan share stories of coincidences that he experienced after the loss of his wife.

Finally, I pulled out a book that I had in my purse -- When God Winks. Why would I happen to have that book in my purse?! I shared with Dan that this book would help him to see that God has had his hand all phases of his life. That evening, I gave Dan my copy of the book.

At the end of the night, we exchanged email addresses and stayed in touch. About four months later, we started dating. Now, two years later, we are engaged to be married. We are getting married on September 3, 2010. Dan has 11 children, ranging in age from 19 to four and I feel so blessed to have them in my life.
